Pack Screen Enhancement - Hide Auto-Generated Items

We have introduced a new setting to control whether auto-generated consignment items appear on the Pack Screen. This has been added because it’s possible to operate with two different packing workflows:

  • Mobile App Packing Workflow: After picking, using automatically generated consignment items and making quick adjustments is usually faster than starting from scratch.

  • Pack Screen Workflow: Starting from an empty list of items and creating them by scanning is typically the most efficient.

     

To support both approaches, a new Hide Auto-generated Consignment Items setting has been added at both the organisation and customer level.

  • By default, the customer-level setting inherits the organisation-level configuration.

  • The organisation setting defaults to No, meaning auto-generated items are shown by default to preserve existing behaviour.

 

When this option is set to Yes, any automatically generated consignment items will be hidden on the Pack Screen as if they were never created. These items are then replaced when the order is updated to Packed.

Additionally, the Pack Screen now displays if an item was auto-generated. This tag is removed once the order is packed.

Upcoming Improvements

  • The ability to toggle visibility of auto-generated items directly from the Pack Screen (Show/Hide).

  • Sale Order Products will be automatically packed into auto-generated consignment items. If auto-generated items are hidden, the products will appear unpacked.
