Dock Management - Notifications and Approvals
Dock Management can now email carriers when their booking changes, so your team stops relaying the same information by phone.
Booking cancelled: the carrier is told straight away, instead of finding out when they arrive.
Booking time changed: moved a truck to a different time or day? The carrier gets the old time and the new one, side by side.
Booking departed: a completion receipt once the vehicle has been unloaded and left the site.
Every one of these starts switched off, so nothing changes until you decide it should. Moving a booking between docks never emails anyone, and edits to bookings in the past are ignored entirely. You'll find it under Settings > Notifications.
You can also now hold carrier bookings as requests until your team has looked at them.
Switch on Require booking approval and a carrier booking through your link lands in the Unassigned lane rather than taking a slot outright. They receive a Booking Requested email with no check-in code and a clear note not to travel until they hear from you. As soon as your team drags the booking onto a dock, their confirmation and check-in code are sent automatically.
Allocating the dock is the approval: no extra button, no extra step in your day.
Confirmed once, and only once: shuffling a booking between docks afterwards won't send a second email.
Carrier bookings only: anything your own team creates is never treated as a request.
Approval is set per site, so you can require it at a busy DC and leave a smaller site running as it does today. You'll find it under Settings > Site Settings.
Also in this release:
Cancel and delete are now separate: Cancel booking keeps the record, and a carrier can be told about it. Delete permanently has moved into a dropdown beside it, is limited to admins, and asks you to confirm — with an extra warning if the truck has already been marked as arrived.
Take a dock back off a booking: the Unassigned lane is now always visible on the Day view. Drag a booking into it to free the door, or choose No dock (Unassigned) in the booking itself. Handy when plans change and you don't want to hold a dock you can't use.
Completed is now Departed: the status is named the same way everywhere — on the board, in the booking, and in the emails your carriers receive. Status colours have been updated too, so a truck that has arrived and is waiting stands out from one already being unloaded.
