We’ve introduced an enhanced workflow Mobile Apps 6.9.0 introduce Pack by SKU, an enhancement to the packing workflow within Split Pick & Pack Waves designed to significantly improve efficiency when processing single-item orders in your warehouse. This update is tailored for businesses with a high volume *.
Within the Packing Modeof Split Pick and Pack Waves, you can now scan product barcodes directly from the orders list which then jumps you straight to the first unpacked order requiring that particular item.
This workflow significantly increases throughput when handling large quantities of single-item ecommerce orders, enabling faster picking, packing, and dispatching.

Optimised Workflow for Single-Item Orders:
Wave Picking: Group single-item orders into a Split Pick & Pack Wave to maximize cross-order efficiency.
Streamlined Packing: Pick all items in the Split Pick & Pack Wave onto a single trolley and process them item-by-item at the packing station.
Efficient Scanning in the Pack Step:
Scanning a product's barcode (PUOM) on the Pack screen now automatically opens the first unpacked Sale Order requiring that item.
Sale Orders are prioritized as follows:
Orders with a single unit of the scanned item.
Orders with any quantity of the scanned item.
Simplified Process:
Grab any item, scan it, and the system will instantly pull up an order that can be fulfilled with that product.
This eliminates the time spent searching for the correct product for an order, boosting productivity.
This update reduces the time spent picking and packing by simplifying how single-item orders are processed. It ensures faster dispatch and a smoother workflow for your team, especially for businesses with high-volume ecommerce operations.

How to use Pack by SKU:
Create a Split Pick and Pack Wave Pick containing single-item orders.
Pick all of the orders in one go onto a single trolley / tote & then bring everything back to the packing station.
– Here is where the magic happens! --
Rather than work through the packing process order-by-order, instead, simply pickup any item from the trolley/tote and scan it.
As each item (Product Unit of Measure barcode) is scanned, this selects an unpacked order from the wave that contains that item. The Sale Order that is selected is based on a priority order of:
Sale Order with 1 quantity of the item
Sale Order with any quantity of the item
Sale Order which also contain other products*
The packer can then pack and print the shipping label and dispatch the order.
To streamline operations even further, combine Pack by SKU with Wave Pick Auto-Generation to have CartonCloud automatically create Wave Picks out of Single-Item orders in the background.
